The OICCT is an organisation that offers practical training in all complementary therapies such as Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Cosmetic Acupuncture, Feng Shui and more. The College was founded to bring together all complementary therapies with the vision of bringing health to all.
At the OICCT we are dedicated to training students to become highly confident and competent practitioners that are able to go on and begin a career with the skills they learn.
Following in the footsteps of the famous Healer and Professor, Anton Jayasuriya, the College aims to unite all alternative medicines under one roof.
In between the time we spend running our courses for students, the College premises boasts a busy multi-bed clinic. We see patients with conditions ranging from chronic pain to complicated internal conditions like IBS, depression, asthma and more. All kinds of problems are dealt with on a daily basis. The College facilitates the practice of all kinds of therapies including, fertility treatments, Cosmetic Acupuncture, massage, and more.
Prof Sir Tuan Anh Diep was born in Vietnam and at the age of 8 moved to the UK. From a young age his father taught him the family’s traditional skills that include Martial Arts, Philosophy and Chinese Medicine.
All throughout his early life he trained with and worked in his Fathers’ Chinese Medicine clinic. Years later, Prof Sir Tuan Anh Diep furthered his skill in Acupuncture by learning from the famous Professor Anton Jayasuriya in Sri Lanka. After receiving his doctorate, he returned to Northampton to open his own Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture clinic.
Just one year after beginning the Free Treatment Clinic, Prof Sir Tuan Anh Diep had many requests to study with him. Upon training his primary staff and after receiving many more requests for the opportunity to study, Prof Sir Tuan Anh Diep decided it was time to move to a bigger facility to continue growing his team and to start an Acupuncture College known as The Open International College for Complementary Therapies (OICCT Ltd) in Northampton.
Alongside working in a busy clinic, Prof Sir Tuan Anh Diep also works as the head lecturer for the college where he teaches his family’s system of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine.
As a Master of Kung Fu, Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, and Feng Shui, Prof Sir Tuan Anh Diep holds what is known as the “Core Elements of Chinese Philosophy”.

Dr Palmer has always been interested in herbal and alternative healing methods; mixing herbs to try and help with any ailments that family or friends suffered with. During his time at university studying Aquatic Zoology he realised his interests were set on a different path, and left in search of healing and spiritual knowledge. When he began his training at the OICCT Acupuncture College he was able to piece together what he had learnt in his own studies and gain much more.Alongside his interests in Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine and various holistic therapies, Dr Palmer also practices Chinese Kung Fu.

Dr Werra is currently a Sous Chef and has been working in the catering industry for 17 years. Having a real passion for food, healthy eating and people’s wellbeing, Dr Werra undertook a diploma in nutrition as he feels that with modern day lifestyles, people do not eat a well-balanced diet, which has serious negative side effects on people’s health.This concern for health consequently led to his aspiration to improve people’s general fitness and has led to his interest for studying Acupuncture.
“I realise that if your health is poor, then you cannot experience life to its best.”He is also fluent in Polish and English and has also studied Russian. Dr Werra works at the Open International College as a lecturer.
The OICCT is the only organisation in the UK that is linked to the MA. MA aims to advance the scientific study and professional practice of Medicines, by encouraging its development by promoting research, high standards of professional ethics, competence, conduct, education, qualification and achievement among practitioners, to carry out the promotion and the dissemination of knowledge and philosophy of Medicines through local and International means, and to encourage a wide interest among the public and all ancillary areas of knowledge and practice.
We are closely linked with the Open International University of Complimentary Medicine (OIUCM) in Sri Lanka. This has been used successfully to train over 33,000 Acupuncturists worldwide and treat over three million patients. The OICCT has accreditation from the Acupuncture Society Accreditation Board based in London. The ASAB is a professional body that ensures that accredited colleges keep up to date with new professional and academic standards in Complementary Medicine practise.
This means that all our students graduate with the highest educational standards required to safely practise Acupuncture in the UK and also enables students to apply to join the Acupuncture Society. Link to The Acupuncture Society

A team of highly qualified and experienced Practitioners led by Steve Russell (Dr), MBRCP (Hom), Doctor and Professor of the full spectrum of Natural Medicines. He has practiced and taught in numerous countries, written numerous papers and tutorial booklets. He has also been awarded Knight Commander KStJ (EMH) for his services to medicine in South-east Asia and Oceania.
At the OICCT, once you have finished year two, you may be invited to join the CT Centre Team. This means that by joining an already established name there are a host of benefits which will make getting started on your new career i.e. Acupuncture, that much easier:
